Pricing structure reflects rates if the computer is purchased directly through NinerTech.
What happens when my computer needs a repair?
Simply bring it into your NinerTech campus store. They will get the unit checked in for repair. Turnaround time will depend on the volume our repair department is experiencing at that time. 95% of repairs are facilitated in-house which helps us ensure our turn-around times stay as low as possible.
What is the limit of liability?
The limit of liability is equal to the price of the covered device at the time of purchase.
(Example: Joe buys a four year plan along with a laptop at the discounted educational price of $1,349. He is covered up to $1,349 for four years - whichever comes first.)
Is there a deadline to register the card?
We highly recommend registering the card as soon as possible. Failure to do this could result in a delay in our ability to process the repair.
What happens if the student needs to have their computer repaired while they are not at school, e.g., summer breaks, fall breaks, or holidays?
The customer should call Safeware directly at 1-800-800-6132 and their agents will process the service request. Safeware agents will either find a local service facility for them or send a box for the customer to ship their broken computer to one of their service center depots.
I already purchased a computer. Can I still buy a NinerCare plan?
Yes. You are able to purchase NinerCare as long as the unit is still under the 1 year manufacture’s warranty and in good working condition. The prices shown on the flyer are the discounted pricing we offer when purchasing computers directly through us. If unit is purchased elsewhere the purple-card with coverage up to $1,000 is $249, blue-card with coverage up to $2,000 is $349 and the green-card with coverage over $2,000 is $419. To purchase please bring your original receipt and your computer into the store to confirm the conditions above.
Are there deductibles or other service fees?
No, never. In the event of a covered claim, no NinerCare plan has a deductible or service fee in the US.
What happens if a device cannot be repaired?
If a device is damaged beyond repair, it will be replaced with a like or better model or we will reimburse the student for the replacement.
Can I get service anywhere?
Call Safeware at 1-800-800-1492. If you are out of the country, you can still obtain service, but you will be required to pay for the shipping back to an authorized service center in the US.
Is the plan transferable?
Yes. In the event you have your device replaced under the manufacture’s warranty or due to theft [only purple-card has 6 months of theft coverage], the plan can be transferred to the new device. In addition, if the device is sold, the plan can be transferred to the new owner.
Are the batteries covered?
Batteries are covered in the event of accidental damage to the device. The plan does NOT cover a battery that has been depleted due to normal consumption.
Are AC adapters covered?
Yes, if the adapter is physically damaged or fails from normal use.
Does the plan cover data recovery or backup?
No. NinerCare is not responsible for data backup or recovery. However, a NinerCare plan combined with a backup hard drive provides an easy way to have the peace of mind your data is duplicated and safer.
Does NinerCare protection cover problems resulting from software or viruses?
No, software and virus related problems are not covered by the plan. We also do not cover system software reinstallation.
Keep in mind that your computer generally comes with a one year manufacture’s warranty. If you experience problems with your device within the first year, you should contact your manufacture for assistance.
